Integrate with your system
Stø ID Card can be integrated with all modern cash register systems, or inn employee apps or other scanning devices. You only need to connect to our APIs and configure barcode scanners.
Once the system is in place, the customer's digital ID card can be scanned by the barcode scanner, and relevant personal information and photo will be immediately displayed to the cashier.
Afterwards, you can simply scan away to retrieve verified ID data on the system screen.

4,5 million Norwegians already have BankID. Over 3,5 million of them use the BankID app, and this number is rapidly increasing.
With the launch of our ID card, anyone with the BankID app can activate identification on their mobile phone completely free of charge, simply by scanning their passport or national ID card.
As secure as BankID
Stø ID Card meets strict security requirements, both in terms of privacy and measures to eliminate fake identification.
Customers must verify using a biometric login to access the ID card, and a new time-limited QR code is generated for each authentication. This eliminates the risk of misuse and falsification of identification.
The service complies with GDPR regulations. The data transmitted to the company's cash register system is stored at BankID and is only provided during the verification process. Your company is relieved from storing customers' personal data.

How to get started
Free to Test
You can test the ID card in your own system completely free of charge. The Merchant API can be integrated into all modern POS systems or other scanning systems and uses the Open ID Connect standard. Guidance on how this can be done can be found in our developer documentation.
You can also order a test client completely free of charge. It includes everything you need to test whether the solution will work in production and is easily accessible.

Self-Service Ordering
After testing the integration, you can order access to the service yourself through our self-service portal. Log in with your own BankID and provide your company's organization number to create a company profile and order services from us.
Check Customer IDs
Once the order is completed, we will set up the service for you and send the technical keys you need to scan real ID cards. When these are correctly configured, you can start scanning customer IDs using the BankID app.
Order Test Client
The test client provides you with access to relevant test data, allowing you to test your integration against our API. After submission, you will be contacted by our partner team.
Pricing
The pricing for ID cards follows a tiered model, where the price per transaction decreases with higher monthly volumes. The minimum monthly fee is NOK 250.
